Quick Tip of the Month
Each month we will provide a quick tip on various subjects
in the material handling industry. Watch this area for helpful
ideas and shortcuts in maintenance and operation of your material
handling equipment.
- When heavy total loads must be moved it is best to use
a
conveyor bed with rollers (instead of regular conveyor bed).
Heavy total loads
can be moved without using large motors when a Roller Bed
Belt Conveyor is used.
- For best belt tracking results on a Belt Conveyor, the overall bed length should be two and a half (2 ˝) times more than the belt width.
- When boxes move from Gravity Conveyor to an Incline Belt
Conveyor, the box usually stops or hangs up. The box will
not transfer, but with a Belted Power Feeder the transfer
of the box is positive. The Power Feeder is driven from the
main Incline Belt Conveyor by a short chain and sprocket
connection.
